We are an independent medieval reenactment living history household. We base our camp around every day folk entertainment. We show a side of medieval society that very few other groups do; the every day domestic, social, and secular entertainment.
Entertainment, Hovel Style
The Hovel specialise in the entertainment enjoyed by the every day person. We sing songs of love and loss, drinking and fun. We have members who juggle, and fire breathe. We also have a whole host of games to entertain the public who flock to our humble camp.
We have spent four years researching our subjects and reenacting as part of a larger society at some of England’s most beautiful castles and venues. We’ve worked with some amazing clients such as The National Trust, English Heritage, and The Tudor Roses.
The Hovel Living History & Authentic Entertainment
The Hovel Household has grown over the years to a large group of approximately 15 associate members with many varying skills. We’re excited to see what the 2017 reenactment season has in store for our live shows, and living history displays coupled with authentic entertainment.
In our downtime from reenactment, we decided to move into the realms of ‘interactive history‘ and have big plans for our household of humble beginnings. Keep an eye on our YouTube channel (HovelTV) and our brand new blog which will be up really soon. We’ve also got our Facebook Page, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Feel free to follow us on either channel to see our next great plans!
